Last weekend, our dear friends Neil and Rita tied the knot. With Rita being from Hungary they held their wedding in the little town of Csorna where Rita grew up - 2 hours by train from Budapest, the small town nestles in the countryside surrounded by fields of sunflowers.
We left Gatwick at 13:50 on Friday afternoon and arrived in Budapest at 17:10. We hopped in a taxi to Keleti train station and purchased tickets for the next train to Csorna. We asked for 1st class as it was close to 40 degrees and to say we were perspiring would be a massive understatement! We got on the train and to our dismay there was no aircon on the train whether you were 1st or 2nd class passengers but once the train got going the breeze swept through the open windows. The train journey lasted a couple of hours and I got some beautiful shots of the open countryside as well as the sunset.
We arrived in Csorna just gone 9pm and got a taxi to the hotel where most of the guests had already arrived. They were all sitting near the lake, sipping on ice cold beers and of course we joined them.
A perfect ending to a wonderful outward journey to the wedding destination.
