I love pizza and have written about making homemade pizza before. But I just had to share again - it is seriously so easy and isn't as time consuming as you think. Plus it really tastes so much better than shop-bought pizza.
I find the simplest toppings make the best pizzas - I just used mushrooms, mozzarella, cheddar cheese and dollops of basil pesto. Seriously - so amazingly delicious. I have always used Jamie Oliver's pizza dough recipe and it works out every single time.
So next time you fancy pizza - try making it yourself. You won't be disappointed.

If you are in a great hurry, you can also use ready roll pastry from the supermarket chiller cabinet (or plan ahead and defrost frozen pastry in the fridge while you are at work. Roll out the pastry and line the pizza tin with it, then cover with your choice of fillings. Not quite the same as real pizza dough, but quicker and equally delicious. Use either short or puff pastry - both nice but obviously different textures. I prefer puff, but "my boys" preferred the shortcrust version. Favourite filling was (1) tomato paste or ketchup (2) sliced cheese (3) sliced ham (4) sliced tomato (5) grated cheese and oregano. Cook in a hot oven as recommended for pastry.
ReplyDeleteTry it.
Sorry, I didn't make it clear that all those ingredients are the layers in order in one pizza - not five different pizzas.
