Making it happen

Nearly 5 months ago I wrote about getting out of your comfort zone and just getting started.  A lot has happened since then and I wanted to share what I have been up to.

Back in July, I started making banners again.  I started The Little Banner Company back in 2014 while I was on maternity leave.  I needed a creative outlet and to share my creativity with others.  And it made me SO happy.  I got quite a few orders and was really enjoying it.  I then had to go back to work and fell pregnant again so it fell to the wayside.  We then moved to South Africa....moving country with a toddler and a baby is no small feat and didn't have time or the space for creating and running a business.

Fast forward two and a bit years and I finally feel like the fog is clearing a bit.  Jack and Harry are 4.5 and nearly 3 (how did that happen??!) and I have decided to revive my business.  It all started because my mom asked me to make her another banner and once I started again it made me realise how much I LOVE doing this.  Being creative and sharing it with others is my calling.



I have been doing a lot of soul searching and have decided to only work adhoc in my admin job and put my heart and soul into The Little Banner Company and this blog.  I want to work for myself, I want to be my own boss and I want to live the life I have imagined.  This is a risky step but guys - I have to do this.  Admin does not bring me joy.  It does not light up my soul like creating does.  So why settle with it?  Life is so short.  And I am going to make it count.

I am so incredibly lucky to have a family who believe in me and support my dreams.

Please do tell me if you want something that I don't sell!  I love getting ideas from others and creating new things.  So share your thoughts about what you or other people would love to see in my shop so I can make it happen.  In the next few weeks I will be launching my Christmas stock as well as going to quite a few different craft markets around Cape Town!
